City of Raymore History:

Prior to the Civil War, Raymore had only three total occupants. During the war, the area was a campground for both Kansas Jayhawkers and Quantrell's Raiders. Soon after the confederacy surrendered, George Rea and Henry Moore established the town of Raymore which was then incorporated in 1877. More than 130 years after its inception, the town is still thriving with a population of about 17,700 resting in a 20 square area.
