Thank You From Missions ! The Missions Team would like to thanks everyone who donated gifts to the children of Spofford Home. These children are away from their families and for many, your gifts are the only gifts they will receive. The Missions Team is so appreciative of your donations which enable them to reach out to the less fortunate in the community.

Thank you for stocking the Diaper Closet ! We were happy to add two babies and one toddler this past month to our list of recipients. Because we received a $1000 grant from the Costner-Fulton Endowment Fund in November, we were able to include our diaper information in the gift bags for West Central that were delivered December 7th. Parents have expressed their appreciation when picking up diapers and said it makes a tremendous difference in their weekly budgets to receive this assistance. The Diaper closet will continue to need contributions and coupons from the congregation. We especially ask for your prayers for these youngest of God's children. Thank you for your support. Please help us reach out to these families in need.

The Diaper Closet! The Missions Team received a $1000 grant enabling them to provide free diapers for families who live in Raymore, Belton & Peculiar who also are clients at West Central MO. Community Action Agency. Personal care items, including diapers, are NOT covered by food stamps or any other government assistance. We are asking for your help to fill our Diaper Closet. You may contribute by check (marked "diapers") or you may purchase diapers yourself. Also please save diaper coupons--look for the "diaper" in the Narthex! We will distribute diapers form the infant nursery across from the office the 2nd & 4th Mondays each month. If you would like to help call the church office.

Pantry P.I.C.K. (Products In Christian Kindness):

Food can be dropped off on that Friday morning or Saturday(day of ReStart) from 10a.m. until 3:30p.m. in the church kitchen. You can also volunteer to help serve the meal. Look for additional information on the narthex kiosk or call Joni.

Spofford Home:

Spofford Home is a residential treatment center in Kansas City for children ages 4-12, suffering from the effects of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, or mental health disorders. St. Paul's participates in a Christmas gift adoption program each year. In November, you may pick a star off the small tree outside the sanctuary and purchase a $10-$15 gift for a resident.

Trinity Chest:

Change is Good! especially when it is dropped in the Trinity Chest, located in back of the sanctuary on Sunday Mornings. This money will be divided 3 ways and will go to Spofford Home, ReStart and Grand Avenue Temple. The total since its inception is a whopping $3,774.16!! Thank you to Daniel Patti for his continued efforts to collect for the Trinity Chest. The lose change in your pocket has become blessings for three charities—thank you for emptying those pockets and coin purses.

Grand Avenue Temple:

Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church is an urban, service-oriented community in downtown Kansas City which serves the local homeless men, women and families. The Missions Team has coordinated the collection of shoes and blankets for Grand Avenue Temple residents.

Military care packages:

The Missions Team also goes beyond our own church and community. Care packages were mailed to relatives of church family members who are serving in the military. 4 packages went overseas and 2 remained stateside. A bulletin board to honor all our military, past and present, is on display in the Narthex. If you have any additions or updates to this board let the office know.

Mozambique:

Through the Missions Team, our congregation continues to support the pastor's salary for our sister congregation in Mafuaine, Mozambique. We have also contributed to the "Nothing But Nets" malaria prevention program through UMCOR. Their need continues to be very great.

The drill crew for the Mafuiane well had an issue with a broken pipe and had to redrill.... but the good news is that they found clean water!! This is really good news for the people of Mafuiane! The crew hopes to be done by December 31st! What a Christmas & New Year they will have because you have blessed them with life-saving clean water!
